A short hike along the last stretch of the famous Inca trail walking through a tropical cloud forest covered with orchids, bromeliads and different species of birds, passing by remains of the sacred trail of the Incas such as Chachabamba and wiñayhuayna for ending at the majestic city Machupicchu, well hidden in to the forest during more than five centuries before it was exposed to the world.
Day 1
Pick up time depends of the hotel where you stay then we to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station, to board a scenic train through the mountains with beautiful scenery until the Km 104, the starting point of our trek. After crossing the Sacred river of the Incas on a footbridge, we start our hike to the archaeological site of Chachabamba, with an elevation of 2150m (7095ft), and after three or four hour climbing we arrive to Wiñaywayna 2700m (8856ft) which is considered one of the most beautiful archaeological sites of the Inca Trail. After we walk through the ancient ruins we continue through the semitropical cloud forest area, until Intipunku (The Sun Gate) where we get our first view of the legendary Machu Picchu 2400m (7872ft). After a short hike down, we enjoy the afternoon before we descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for a comfortable night in the hotel.
After an early breakfast, we take a shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu to enjoy  a private guided tour in the first group and after, you will have free time to explore the ruins on your own. You return to Aguas Calientes by bus, then to Cusco by train and private vehicle.
